Default Tips to Stop Girth Elastic Fraying

So my county logic elastic is beginning to fray a bit on the sides and I'd like to stop/slow it down if I can (as the rest of the girth is in great shape). Does anyone have any tips to stop the fraying. I've thought about no-fray glue products or trying to singe the edge, but I wanted to check and see if anyone else had any tried and true tricks

When the elastics are done, just replace them! As long as the rest of the girth is in good shape, you can still get a few more years out of it.

I don't know of anything to stop the fraying. As the other poster said, you can get the elastics replaced eventually. I have a CWD anatomical girth that needs replacement elastic. Contacted CWD about getting it done, as I'd like it to match (distinctive color and pattern on the elastic). The cost would rival buying a new one! I'm going to just have it done locally with normal elastic.
