When I bought Cash his owner gave me a 2/3 full jug of his "favorite" treats.
When I got him unloaded & into his stall, I offered one and he sniffed it then said NTYVM.
Never ate a single one (Vern was more than happy to make use of them).

I got my mare one for a special treat at weekend long shows. Figured it would help with boredom. I even took the plastic off ( if I had not of read the instructions I would of missing it also.) but she doesn't even look at it! I have even thought about licking it as well thinking maybe it would get the smell going.
I even hung it in her stall at home and she hasn't touched it. Put it up to her mouth and she turns away....Why do I even try!? Thats a mare for Ya
The Love for a Horse is just as Complicated as the Love for another Human being, If you have never Loved a Horse you will Never Understand!!!
We had a horse at the barn that at one point was very depressed. He would politely accept a carrot, the unobtrusively drop it in the corner under his feed bucket. We found a little pile one day. When asked, the stall cleaner (who didn't know horses very well) said he thought the horse was saving them for later so he left them!
In a few weeks, the horse perked up and carrots began to go down the gullet again, instead of dropped into the corner.
What, a horse that doesn't LOVE hanging balls?! My mare devours that thing and gets molasses everywhere, probably including her eyeballs! Her face takes weeks to get fully clean after a good hanging ball in the summertime!
