Seeking information about the Welsh Cob stallion North Forks Black Earl standing in Oregon state. Looking for honest reviews, personal experience, video, anything you got! Feel free to PM me.

I have searched and can find ZERO info aside from the breeder's website. Can't even find a video.

I know the NorthFork stable, but not this stallion in particular. But I know a very talented young dressage rider in the NW (Jessica Wisdom) trained Northfork Cardi (a bay Welsh Cob stallion) all the way to GP and he was good enough at it that even in CA against WBs he was pulling in great scores.

Google Jessica Wisdom...she probably knows something about him...

Flying Changes magazine is another PNW resource. There is a lot of press about Northforks Cardi , but I haven't heard of Black Earl. Check out the classifieds, maybe there is something there? Also recommend contacting Jessica Wisdom.

If I understood correctly, Earl is a half brother to Cardi, Kyzteke. I don't have any personal experience with the stallion himself, but am very familiar with the trainer that was standing him last year (who is not Jessica Wisdom, and is in no way associated with her!).

I don't know, but I'd guess same sire. There is a comment asking about the relation on North Forks Cardi's facebook page, that's where I saw it.

Jessica Wisdom is riding him in the Mary Cornelius photo shown there, so I'm thinking she would be able to tell you something about him. She can be contacted thru her website eqequestrian.com.

I was aware of all the above info, that JW had him in training briefly, that PB did most of the riding, etc.

I was more curious to hear of first hand experience anyone has with offspring, or see actual video of him.... Seems like it's maybe just not out there!

I am pretty sure that he is the sire of Wendy Yings matched carriage team Duke and Dante and his grandsire is Randy Bullard's GREAT stallion Consort.

not first hand, but I KNOW I've seen video of one of his offspring. I remember because it was out of the dam of one of my super cute horses. Let me do some looking and see if I can find it, if still online.

By NFBE, out of one of my horse's dams, I think, as the name and area are right. My guy is Westfalen and a fab mover, but don't know if that came from mom or dad or the mix.

What's more interesting to me is that I happen to be the person riding in video #2 on that ad. He's a cute little dude, seemed like a nice sort despite being super duper green. I'm not sure he'd been over any fences prior to that day. He's owned by the same breeder that I bought my Westphalian mare from (who is out of one of her Trak mares, although not the same one as this guy). That video is over a year old. Yes, that's the one I'm talking about (that I think is out of the same mare as this Jules guy).

That's right. Same sire, different dams. I didn't know your baby was out of one of Nancy's Trak mares, that's interesting. FWIW, the breeder that owns these guys (Albionlane) is not the same one that owns NFBE (Pleasantstone), although I believe they are friends. There was another pony, My Sweet Dinah, that is also by NFBE out of a different Trak mare. I never met her, though.

She was not the breeder of mine; I think the mare changed hands. My guy was bred by Hit's owner. Must be the same mare, however, as I just noticed my own link there had the pedigree and it matches. Everyone told me she was quite fancy but I never saw her.

I'm sure you know this (positive, in fact) but they aren't considered related if they have the same sire. Just considered 1/2 siblings if of out of the same dam.

Maybe to you! The straight fact is, they do share half of their DNA, so they are related. I don't care how many foals a sire is capable of siring and don't care how many foals a dam is capable of foaling...DNA doesn't lie.
