Default Hoof Resection & Riding Protection

Hey all! Quick summary: Horse has white line, hoof wall resected, there is a small hole at the top which goes up further.

Still shod. What can I use to protect the hole while riding? Something removable so that I don't have to worry about getting foreign bodies in the hoof in the deep sand of the dressage ring?

I didn't know if anyone had ever tried using an easy boot glue on but not gluing it on, just as a sock almost while riding.

Also, anyone have a favorite soaking boot? Trying to figure out what would be best to keep in the gas from the white lightning mixture. Bags are nice but leak and scare the crap out of him.

Tried duct tape actually, and the sand made it come off.

If your farrier didn't fill the gap then probably it's ok to leave it as is. Mine filled it with some sort of plastic then dremeled out an airhole at the top. We weren't soaking with anything and the resected area was unstable and needed the support.

That's what my farrier did too. I'd suggest checking with the farrier on protection and soaking boots.
