Default Finally...the barn is coming along!!

The barn has been built and we've been moved in. All fall/winter we had 8-10 stalls in the main barn and all our run in sheds in the paddocks. But finally some progress!

November we had a row of center aisle lights put down and hooked up temporarily from the house. Bliss to not be using those 300 and 500 watt lamps!

January the contractor came and installed my heated automatic waterers so almost all the horses can access fresh water. I just have to lug water to the minis which is not hard!

This month we finished up the other stalls in the barn so they are completed and now working on the tack room. We also had the panel installed and the center aisle lights permanently hooked up. Yesterday the electrician hooked up ALL my stall lights! Seems so simple but to have so much light in the barn is a dream for me. It's been a long wait to have all the animals on one farm and have the barn I designed coming together. The electrician is finishing up with outside lights and lights on the front and back of the barn. The run in areas will have lights along with the four paddocks.

We are also getting outlets and overhead ceiling fans in the house! The upstairs which consists of three bedrooms shares only two outlets and two lights in the whole upstairs. True 1850's farm house!

I am just so tickled it's all coming together!

We only put three bulbs high up and it feels like it is daylight in there now, compared with flashlights before.

Glad that you now also have good lights to see by, especially nice in the winter.

The Amish Builders (that is actually the name of the company) built the outside and put my stall posts in for me. They did it in 6 working days. I've known a lot of local people that used them. However with working full time and until November my husband and I being on opposite schedules, the inside was coming along very slowly. Finally picking up and we can see the end in sight! Then onto the old bank barn which will house the four pony stalls, we already have five goats stalls finished in there.

Aspenlucas, too bad you used that money to build a barn instead of feeding your horses. You know, like the one you STARVED to death? Hope you're thrown in jail and that the charges are not dismissed.
