Default Looney Politicians Exist on Both Sides of the Aisle

Many on COTH argue that it's the conservatives that are bonkers however, I believe many in office need to go, regardless of party. If nothing else, voters should demand term limits.

    Words. I don't have them.

There is a whole lot of crazy in the gun debate, but that might be the best one yet!

The crazy thing is that they get elected in the first place.

Hmmm, crickets from those who usually scream the loudest about 'wingnut' republicans.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like politics doesn't necessary attract our best and brightest. And y'all are right, crazy IS bipartisan

    FWIW I'm a moderate democrat.

Mix guns with politicians, stir just a bit, and you get crazy on both sides of the aisle. No one can match the head nutter though...Wayne LaPierre.

I'm a fiscal conservative, social liberal, registered Republican who votes all over the map, for the best candidate. This guy way out of line. Extremists on both sides of the aisle are way out of line. If we can't find the middle road; if both sides can't remember that life is a give and take situation and that shades of gray are much more common than strict black and white, then we're all going to be up a certain creek with no paddle. We have to start looking past what is best for "me" and look at what is best for "us." And, "us" includes our children, grandchildren and beyond.

Ah, what we really need is a realization that men are too batshit crazy to entrust with public office. The biggest con job in human history was when men convinced themselves that women were the gender that couldn't think past its reproductive organ.

Do you really think that women make better politicians? The question is not facetious as I have heard lots of people talk about this in Canada lately as we are having big problems with our Senate. Someone I heard here recently suggested that things would improve if we only appointed women to the Senate. As a woman I think that there is a specific type of person who is attracted to politics, regardless of gender, those people are often bat s**t crazy. I think that the man in the article definitely qualifies.

Of course women make better politicians. We make better everythings. Apart from that, there's the reality that men have run everything alone for the entire history of our race, barring a few queens or other blips on the gender screen. In the course of human history, there have been more white slaves than female politicians. Why not just do a 100% switch?

Some women are nuts, true. But no woman is as nuts as the craziest man. Men just believe more viscerally in their own splendidness. That's hard to equal. A woman, no matter how completely insanely full of herself, is aware on some level that being a loud-mouth moron is going to work against her. She may go to that well, but skittishly. Men regularly bathe in it. A female politician may say shocking or ugly things, but she'll back off it in a heartbeat. She won't hang a standard on it and defend it for months, right up until the moment the head of their party wrestles them to the floor in a chokehold and hisses in their ear that if they don't (%R*$@%&$ back down right this ***** instant, they will be forced to give the next State of the Union rebuttal.

I see your argument, and I raise you Sarah Palin. Bat sh&t crazy is gender neutral. Men only seem crazier because more of them hold office.

I think the difference is that the GOP base loves their crazies, the Dems, not so much.

You might not like Nancy Pelosi, but crazy she's not and she sure held her caucus together.

The assault on women in the 2nd Amendment debate should open the eyes to many women - but it won't.
Joe Biden said that if someone comes to his house, his wife should go to the door and shoot her shotgun twice into the dark. That would scare them off.
I hope that an explanation of how rididuclous that advice is not necessary.
The only reason is could work for her is that they have security guards and as long as she doesn't shoot one in the dark, she'll be OK and if she does, they'll cover it up so it's still OK.

In many instances, the only way a woman can protect herself from a male assailant is with a gun. As many women of my acquaintance as men are emotionally capable of handling a gun. I am and I have that right guaranteed to me by the constitution.
This is where women should exercise their "right to choose".

Where do you get that the GOP loves their 'crazies?' Dems love theirs as well- Joe Biden, for example. And Pelosi is a nutjob as well. "We have to pass it so we can read it" comes to mind.

    Crazy is definitely bipartisan
