    Default Chick hatching question

This is my first time hatching out chicks. We have 10 eggs in the incubator and our first has started coming. His calendar and mine are obviously out of sync, and it has only had a day from the time I stopped turning until he pipped. The question is in 2 parts...The chick is working on the bottom side of the egg as it is oriented now. 1-Is this the proper direction?
2-If this is the wrong direction, should I flip the egg?

    Thank you.

In answer (sort of) to my own question: Another egg has hatched and that chick has wandered all over the incubator and move all of the eggs around, so up is down and dowdn is up for a few of them. I guess they'll figure it out. I mean, hens don't mark them with Xs and Os for up and down.

I would go to www.backyardchickens.com I haven't hatched any eggs yet but I did pick up a book about it the other day and it seemed, on flipping through it, that it does matter which way the eggs are orientated.

Nope, just leave them be and let them work themselves out.
And whatever you do, don't help them out!

Can you show us pics of your new kids? I can't stand how cute they are. Love their noises, too!
