    Default Looking for Warmblood Breeders

Would anyone be able to recommend some good warmblood breeders focusing on hunter/jumpers in Ontario, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, W Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and South Carolina?

    Thanks

That's a rather diverse list of locations with strong H/J presence in each of them, including a number of breeders.

Care to be more specific about what you are looking for?

I'm looking for an upper level jumper prospect, ideally something fancy enough to also do the derbies. Looking at a 3-4 year old doesn't have to be backed yet, budget of around $25 000. I'm from southern Ontario and willing to travel for the right horse and my coach is in Aiken so I can also have her look in that area. Have been searching online but haven't found as much as I would like. Thanks for the help

We just picked up our new 3 year old prospect from Last Laugh Farm in PA. I am very excited to get him going under saddle this spring. When I was there I did get to see several other 3 year old prospects they have available, so you can try several at one farm and choose which best suits you and your goals/needs. They also have a 5 year old that is showing down in Fl. right now too. They always have a nice selection of young horses. Good Luck. Horse shopping is so much fun

If you're willing to step one province over I would check out www.fermebeaulieufarm.com

There are several 3 -4 yr olds available at the moment.

I breed a few quality sporthorses in Ontario. My oldest are three. Proven warmblood mares with A circuit show records.

I second this. I have a 2007 mare coming from their program. She is a really good jumper with very nice gaits. I haven't had the chance to show her much (had 2 kids) but a professional did show her at age 4 in dressage and she came with 1st and 2nd places most of the time.

You might want to spend some time surfing through warmbloods-for-sale website; they always seem to have lots of young horses on there. It will also give you an indication of what your $ may get generally.

If Indiana isn't too far out of your way try Bannockburnfarms. Call because the website is not always up to date. http://www.bannockburnfarmllc.com/

We are in Kentucky and specialize strictly in jumpers, though occasionally we have one that wants to be a hunter. To fit your criteria we have a nice 2yo, but not sure if any of our 3-4yo would suit. Allyn McCracken in Indiana is also a good suggestion at Bannocknurn farm and is only a couple hours from us. There are some other smaller breeders in Lexington like Avenir Farm (baywithchrome2). Also Carracci's owner's often have some youngsters available and Avenir can help you get in touch with them or you can send me a PM for contact info. I also like the Beaulieu horses quite a bit and you might find something you like closer to home. Good luck in your search!

Isn't the difference that the OP isn't the one making the suggestions, but is asking for farms? I think that's the difference anyway...

I'm crushed the OP didn't ask about SD in that string of states. *kidding*

I also would recommend visiting Ferme Beaulieau. I have a 2008 gelding from them and he is fantastic.
