Default Moving up the levels in a show season?

I know there is a rule about consecutive levels in a show (no more than 2) but is there a rule about a show season? Ex: Show Trg/1st in one show, then 1st/2nd in next show etc? I cannot find anything in Rule Book but my friend think there is a rule regarding this.

Not that I've ever heard about.

I do not believe there is any such rule. Certainly at EC shows my coach has done this.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.

You can ride any/all levels throughout the season, just not at the same show on the same horse.

For instance, I rode Training/First throughout my 2010 season, then tried a Second Level test near the end of the season. Only showed First and Second at that particular show.

Totally allowable - you can start at First level and ride PSG at the next show. I've seen a few trainers get hold of schoolmasters and get two or three medals in a few shows.

Thanks! That is what I thought, and I did scour the rules. In fact the horse I bought was shown in 2011 1st-4th by the same rider over a course of a few months. So it is an Urban Dressage Legend!

    Not even very legendary.

It's like someone getting a capable Prelim level eventer. and getting used to it at Novice, one week, Training the next and Prelim 3 weeks later.

Although someone is sure to jump in and say NO! you can't do that!
Some riders change their horse, they change their saddle, they change their teacher; they never change themselves.

Remember the horse does all the work, we just sit there and look pretty.
