Default Welcome to the West Coast YHS

Very excited to hear the news today that the YHS will be hosted by El Sueno (also the location of the Benchmark Program) in Moorpark, Ca. This is very exciting news for breeders on the west coast! I hope all SoCal breeders and young horse owners will come and show their support.

Gayle, I didn't know either. Just found this description on El Sueno's FB page. Great idea, I might have to attend!

"We are excited to announce that the Young Horse Show Series (YHS) is coming to the West Coast!

On March 30th Dark Horse Farms will host the first West Coast YHS show at El Sueño Equestrian in Somis, CA.

The Young Horse Show Series is designed to provide sporthorse breeders as well as owners, trainers and riders of all disciplines an affordable show venue to introduce and evaluate their young horses to the show environment and “put on necessary mileage” with appropriate and special classes suitable to the proper development of young horses. It is also intended to create a sales environment where numerous young horses are in a single location and their talents displayed in front of a buying audience.

    Classes consist of:
In Hand and At Liberty - Open to horses age 1-4
Jump Chute - Open to horses age 2-4
Flat Class for Sport - Open to horses age 3-5
Jumping & YJC Development Program - ages 4-5
Dressage Under Saddle - Open to horses age 4-5

Program rules and information available at www.younghorseshow.com

Additional info specific to the show at El Sueño coming soon. Please contact Lisa Ciesniewski with any questions info@darkhorsefarms.com or 805.441.1122."

Welcome to California! It will be so nice to put faces to names (or alters). You want to be close to old town Camarillo. I would try the Residence Inn (Marriott). You can take back roads and be their in under 15.

No alters here- although it can be confusing. Michele the mother is Sakura Hill Farm, Monica the daughter is MCarverS!

it is the daughter, MCarverS who is the photographer and CEO of The Equine Media Project and it is she that will be in CA, lucky girl!

Yay! I hope this catches on! I'm breeding for the first time this spring and I have been out of the "show" loop for so long! I hope this will become a soft place for me to jump back in soon! Now, with the new sport horse auction in Vacaville, I have TWO things really close by to look forward to!
