    Default Shivers and CoQ10

I have a horse who has shivers and it was recently recommended that I try coenzyme Q10 and hawthorne berry extract to alleviate symptoms. He currently gets 10,000IU of vitamin E a day and a high fat low carb diet but am wondering if anyone else gives their horse coenzyme Q10?

He started getting the Vitamin E after he had a flare up due to his care where he was turned out in a tiny paddock with multiple other horses (ie. he didn't move around much). He has since moved and the Vitamin E brought the flare up back to his "regular shivers level".

There used to be a company in the US that sold it as a horse supplement but they no longer do however you can give them a pill form most pharmacies. The dosage was 1mg for every 1lb the horse weighed.
