Several years back I was the lucky groom/flunky passenger up on a 4 in hand
carriage when we were going down a narrow paved road trotting happily along, went around a corner and came upon three huge cement trucks parked on both sides of the road- with the trucks' rear concrete barrels loudly rolling and churning ready to pour their contents on a construction site. We barely had one lane to slip through. My life passed before my eyes and I was sure we'd bought the farm. Those 4 beautiful black Non-reactive WB's maneuvered through that narrow lane and just kept trottin' along.
We regularly trained on a road that had an airport and with small airplanes landing right over our heads, and semi's didn't phase them either. Thank goodness they were all level headed cause it was my job to jump down and hold the headers if problems came up.
