    Yea--- um no.
I think this might be the one where she was lunging next to a tree and the horse nearly ran into it or around it (which would also have been a disaster).

A lot of the videos seem like she is a little kid "playing trainer." Like the kid that came up to me once and told me she would be happy to help me out if I am ever dealing with a difficult horse because she "rode all the difficult horses at camp."

Unfortunately, those terrible real life decisions can have terrible real life consequences, as Dom is finding out now.

We removed an earlier post containing a copy and pasted blog entry from another site. We generally allow users to link to copyrighted content on another site or to quote portions of it for discussion under fair use, but not reproduce in its entirety.

We do allow users to fully quote other posts made here, on here.

Please watch the language (either overt or *** profanity isn't appropriate). This trainer had provided a lot of public online commentary and video footage, though it has since been made private, so it's fair game to discuss, but let's keep things constructive and geared toward education and not whatever interpersonal issues are at play in the background.

    Thanks ~

i am here to reiterate that everything meup has said is 1000% true. i have witnessed it with my own eyes, including the "presents" and notes left at meup's barn (which was NOT dom's barn and she only knew about it bc she visited me there back when we were friends). already several people have pm'd me for the "trainer's" real name so they can avoid her, so this post is doing its job-making sure no other horse ends up in her hands. i knew the day would come when she would be outed as a fraud. the truth will set you free, and all that.

Wow. Lovely bunch of people on here huh? (/sarcasm)
Nothing like kicking someone when they're down.

I notice all the usual suspects are out in force with the Dom hate. It must be tiring holding grudges for so long. Poor things!

Oh look, another houseguest has arrived to the party. Or maybe a current houseguest with another newly-minted user ID.

Seriously, I saw those videos, and they made me cringe. Ain't no way that self-proclaimed "trainer" would ever touch any horse of mine.

*sigh* As DanceronIce said...stop helping. We're not 'Mongoloid' (I hope you meant Mongolian? Completely different) any more than we're inherent abusers or idiots.

But then the Irish are *known* for being exceptional horsemen and were included in the "don't compare to caring Americans" diatribe. Possibly her dislike of foxhunting in places without groomed trails where both horse and rider actually move faster than a canter and might get dirty.

The trainer in question is inexperienced and bombastic. Which is typically American.

"Mongoloid" is a correct term...if you're ASIAN. Eastern Europeans are more than one big lump. (Most Slavs are Caucasoid. Some are both. Because they're not all one big group.) And I don't really see where it was relevant in the first place, but whatever, I might be missing a reference...

And I think there's a major difference between hunting in terrain people used to specialty-built arenas get the vapors over and PUBLICLY ADVERTISING AS A TRAINER who deals in difficult animals while putting out advertising materials that indicate a skill set not really appropriate to the job. If she weren't calling herself a trainer and attempting to attract clients, most people on here wouldn't react like we have.

Well that's nice and all, but you folks are doing a good job of making yourselves look badly. You are now admitting that you are on a personal vendetta to slam this person. I am afraid that given the circumstances, (her injury) your statements are subject to a LOT of doubt. At best, your criticisms are poorly timed and classless. If not down right cruel and [crappy] looking.

If you were so concerned about this individual and her methods, then you have chosen poorly to wait until someone else starts a fire and then start throwing gasoline on it.

Next time, perhaps you can muster the courage to step forward in a more productive manner. Because you only undermine your own position with claims of 'I want to save the world from this person while she is in a hospital bed.'

As far as the videos.... there is plenty, plenty, oh my lordy lord plenty of criticism of videos from very successful trainers. You could be PP, or Patrick Kittel, or Anky, or even Buck Brannaman (who doesn't allow video at his clinics because HE is so afraid of this sort of thing....) and you could find yourself on the receiving end of a pitchfork patrol on a bulletin board. And you many not like PP, as apparently many here do NOT, but the man is successful. No matter how much you hate him and say he's Satan's favorite playmate.

Heck, you could sprinkle baby powder on a horse's back to show a saddle fitting trick and get pilloried for it (as Susan Jaccoma found out.)

The attacking of the videos is also just weak from overuse around here.

although i know you (saw you around the shows a bunch of times when i showed) you don't know me AT ALL. you have no idea how many times i have posted about her, how many people i've told/warned about her, or what i've been through with her. i have been trying to save the world from this person for a long time, probably longer than you've even known of her. so until you know all the facts, keep your expletive ridden opinions to yourself.

    [QUOTE=lulu27
What in the videos made you cringe, since everyone keep claiming its a "learning experience" and all?[/QUOTE]

Reminds me of the saying “If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.”"

And yes, I read the blog and watched the various videos. Before it went poof, in addition to the stuff other folks noted, there was mention of almost drowning a horse, and getting a horse stuck in the mud so bad that it took the fire department, animal control and a vet to help her get the horse out of the predicament. Maybe I am not remembering correctly, but missing was profuse gratitude to those that got the horse out of a really bad spot. There were also several sarcastic and vitriolic diatribes regarding a former employer/manager. I'd certainly think twice before hiring her for any job after reading those blog entries.

Everyone I know who has spent any appreciable amount of time with horses has made mistakes and learns from them. What made it cringe worthy to me is that this young woman has made so many of them, and doesn't seem to be bothered (at least until today) by memorializing it all on the web.

I don't know Dom, nor do I hate her, and I hope she heals quickly. I do think she needs to think before she acts and consider the consequences before they happen. Having no medical insurance has consequences. Posting publicy about former bosses has consequences. Putting horses in risky situations has consequences. Most of all, I hope she learns from this and doesn't keep repeating the same actions and expecting different results.

Hi there. I'd like to state for the record that I don't know Dom, and don't know any of the posters who do seem to know her. I have absolutely no personal problem with her at all, other than what I have witnessed in the videos, which was atrocious.

I really, really, really do feel terrible that this trainer was injured and I do hope that she heals quickly and fully. I also hope she exercises better judgment in the future and stops trying to train "problem horses."

If the person asking for information on what was so horrible in the videos is really interested, I direct you to my prior posts, which outline specifically the problems I identified in the videos.

I am sorry, but did you SEE the video of the cross tied horse on wet cement rearing and rearing and rearing? I will seriously have horrible visions of that and how easily it could have ended badly forever.

Cement? It was a rubber floor.

It was cement. A rubber floor does not make the same noise.

What made me cringe was getting on a horse shaking in fear. Unsafe decision that she paid dearly for.
