    Default Pet Insurance?

I've done some research on pet insurance. Trupanion comes highly recommended, however they don't cover routine veterinary expenses. I'd like to find a pet insurance company that does, but also has good coverage and pays out for emergencies without a fight. Of course all of this with a reasonable monthly fee. Any recommendations?

No pet insurance covers routine expenses without you having paid a 'rider' for it. It's usually an additional expense. I have my dogs with Embrace and I simply CANNOT say enough WONDERFUL things about them!!!!! When one of my girls had a stroke, the final bill to diagnose/treat her/three day round the clock medical care, etc was 3500. We paid 500 out of pocket, thanks to Embrace. She had another medical problem a year after that and we paid 800 out of a 1500 vet bill. We didn't have meds coverage and she was put on a lot of meds, so that one was actually higher. Sadly, she died about two weeks before Christmas last year. When I called them and told them to drop my coverage for her, they sent me an actual snail mail card that everyone in their office had signed and written condolences in. I was so touched. I have my three dogs with them and always will. They will cover routine vet visits, but it is an 'extra' that you pay for.

Most companies wont pay for routine stuff unless you pay major fees (ie. you will be paying MORE than what you would for basic vaccines etc.).

Pet insurance is good for some, but not for others. There is an alternative to pet ins. that works great & pretty much answers your questions. Check out Pet Assure. It offers 25% discount off your vet bills for a low cost. You can use it as needed, for any pet, any age, with any medical condition. Hope this was helpful.
