Crappy reporting. Not only are there stableman's liens, there are innkeeper's liens used by marinas and storage units that are basically the same thing.
Storage Wars isn't a fiction, we used to have a boat and a storage space and in both places they'd post when they were going to auction off a boat or the contents of a storage unit for non-payment. Supposedly the law isn't the same in KY as CA for storage spaces but c'mon, a reporter can't do a better job fact checking? Do they not watch TV? Or has reporting just become a regurgitation of what your subject tells you?
ETA: Oh, so the barn owner just doesn't want to follow the law. OK, now I get it.
Yeah that’s what it's really about. How pigheadly stupid to waste that kind of money on court costs and attorney's fees, plus the ongoing care and maintenance of the horses one of which the article says is 32 and has cancer, just because she thinks she’s above the law. I’ll bet she’s losing in court and is just trying to stir up the public, and her State Legislator, to support her in the hopes of winning her case that way. Pathetic.
