    Default new to eventing!

Hi all! I'm new to eventing, but not the boards haha. I've always kept myself relatively anonymous, but eh. I'm Hillary and I own a 7 year old (almost 8) Holsteiner mare, Tori. And a 5 year old mutt pony, Rosie.

I trained up to 3rd level dressage with Tori's mom (who I unfortunately had to put down in 2010 because of colic ) and showed only up to training 4 (back when there were 4!). And then I moved to Arizona where I currently am. Tori and I started out in the hunters and then moved to the jumpers where we showed up to 3'3" with pretty good success. And my best friend finally convinced me I wanted to do eventing I had been thinking about it for a while because I missed dressage so much (crazy, right?), but I wanted to continue jumping! Plus, I camped at the Coconino event with my friends, and I met some of the most Amazing people! Eventers seem to be so friendly

Anyway, I plan on attempting Beginner Novice this year, and *maybe* moving up to Novice near the end of the year. But I've actually never schooled cross country, so I don't know how my mare will handle it. Even though she IS a warmblood, she is pretty light, hotter, and spooky. She can be quite a handful! I've been taking lessons from an event trainer now for about... 2 months? And our flat work has gotten Tons better. So has our jumping. And they have a little open "field" where we were able to school some cross rails. And I think my mare loved it.

So I really hope our venture into eventing will be good! We have our first dressage show this Saturday, where we're doing Training 1 and 2. Tori still hasn't quite figured out how to stay connected AND engage, but it is definitely coming.

I'm just going to add a few pictures because I love my horse and want to show her off (and no I'm not 13, even though I might sound like it right now! I'm just really happy haha. I'm actually 23 in case anyone was wondering )
