    Default Hallie Bean

    is freaking awesome.

And anyone who watched Open Training 3 at Pine Top will surely agree

(Hint : stirrups iz for wusses ! I would have stopped and gone home in shame, but she just held up her hand, whipped off the offending broken stirrup and carried on as if nothing happened. Super-Cool Girlie )

Gotta love that girl's spunk! (I've known Hallie since she was a little mite of a pony clubber.)

Awwww .... I bet she was fab as a little pony clubber. She's definitely lovely to watch as a young grown-up.

It was one of those composite irons I believe, which is why I stay old school with the stainless steel fillis type. Haven't failed me yet! That said, now that I think about it, the iron didn't look broken, so it could have been the leather.

I thought the leather broke. The stirrup iron itself as black - composite maybe - but it looked fine to me. One of the officials/volunteers picked it up at the water and brought it home, and it looked fine when they drove past us.

Thank you for answering my question. Does anyone remember whether Buck's actual stirrup or his stirrup leather broke some time ago?

I thought it was the leather, but apparently it was the stirrup.
Flip a coin. It's not what side lands that matters, but what side you were hoping for when the coin was still in the air.

Another cother, tommygirl, did most of a 2* cc with one stirrup.

I've seen Hallie competing in Maine and she is a superb rider. I also spent a weekend photographing her mother coaching my daughter and other kids at a MECTA clinic years ago. If I had a horse who needed to be trained or competed I would not hesitate to go with this family.
