Default North Carolina Moravian Chicken Pie

Is it ever made with rice?

My grandmother was from Charlotte and one of her signature dishes was a chicken pot pie with nothing but chicken, gravy, rice and pastry. I've been trying to recreate it for about thirty years. Recently I learned about Moravian Chicken Pie and wondered if that was the origin of her Pot Pie.

Anyone here have a good recipe for Moravian Chicken Pie, preferably with rice?
