What do you do with your ribbons?
Anyone have any creative and fun ideas of what to do with show ribbons? I have made a ribbon board in a very large shadow box and love that. But now I have new ribbons and want to do something creative with them other than just hang them in my tack room. I know these are only 0.50cent ribbons but there is a lot more money, sweat and tears in each of those ribbons so I want to use them somehow and not just throw them in a box!!!

If you use Google you can search for ribbon pillows and quilts. I had my ribbons made into a couple of quite attractive pillows.

I made a Christmas wreath out of green and red ribbons. I think it turned out very nice!
Now I'm planning an 'every day/season' wreath too.

I've done ribbon jars, boxes and bouquets. As well as pillows, bags, quilts, purses, belts, and bracelets. Once you stitch them together they can be pretty much anything. Maybe think about incorporating photos, embroidery, bits, or championship coolers into a design. All those memories are treasures.

I hang them in my bedroom just like I did when I was a kid. (Yeah - I'm a dork.) Hubby doesn't mind and my little girl thinks it's fun. :-)

My sister has a gorgeous ribbon quilt that hangs on her wall. The woman who sewed it did a beautiful, beautiful job. When I collect a bit more than four, I would love to do the same. Now his ribbons are hanging on his stall.

You can get a large clear glass cookie jar fro Wal-Mart for $10. I bought several and put my ribbons in there, looks nice. Eliminates the clutter and you can always change them around! Below is a photo:

I've done jars with mine, or rather vases. I've got a few bookcases with a mix of vases on top, full of either ribbons from horse shows or shells from trips I tend to scout the Michael's sales, and pick up a vase or two at some point during the year when they've got reasonably sized ones in the $15 range.
That ribbon pony is darling!

Here's a link to my ribbon Christmas wreath:

It should be a public page.
Oh, and it was a maybe 4 hour project (including dry time) and I am far from crafty...

Love all the ideas. I had hung mine on one wall so that it almost wall papered my wall. When we put our house on the market I boxed them all up. Hopefully one day I'll have my own tack room to decorate, I'll have to incorporate some of these ideas!
