I have a Cliff Barnsby Aurora saddle (very light colored). I rode in jeans the other day and the coloring transferred onto my saddle. Anyone else deal with this problem? If so, what is the best cleaner/conditioner that will get the stain out without damaging the leather? Thanks in advance!

Castile soap, then a fairly damp sponge to clean off the soap, then a coat of glycerine.... personally I'd olive oil the snot out of it and hope it got darker, but you might like the color.

Hang on...the blue of your jeans rubbed onto your saddle?? Holy smokes, new on me.

It was probably a pair of jeans that you buy that has a tag that states that the dye may transfer.

castile soap

and if that doesn't work, oil it to darken it, or just know that once you are mounted no one will be able to tell that it is stained.

Ditto Castile soap. It's fairly gentle, but does a great job.

Oh, and I would recommend not riding in those jeans again.

And remember that Castille soap can really dry the leather out so definitely OIL OIL OIL afterwards. I love Castille.

Another option to possibly try might be Leather CPR. I have a beautiful pearl colored Coach purse that I bought a few months ago and my dark jeans rubbed dye onto it even after they had been washed several times. The instructions with the bag said to use only the Coach cleaner on it, but when I stopped by the store, they were out, so when I got home, I gently cleaned it with Leather CPR and the dye came right off. Anyway, I can't say that I've ever attempted to remove dye from a saddle using this cleaner, but it couldn't hurt to try.

I got some stuff to remove ink from leather for my car seats (don't ask). It worked great. that might do the job. it came in a stick.
