I have a friend who is a trainer at Laurel Racetrack in MD. His daughter wants to pursue hunt seat equitation. She is a beginner. Does anyone know of any barns in that area they could recommend?

Oatland Stables would be my first recommendation. I have ridden with both of the trainers there for a loooong time, one since I was 5 and the other since middle school, I'm now in my junior year of college and actually ended up back there riding for the UMD IHSA team. When I left the lesson program after high school to move on to a bigger "A" show barn I felt like they had truly prepared me well over the years for that step up. They really know how to give a rider a strong foundation, Paige especially is wonderful with beginners. They also have many options for getting your feet wet in the show world without breaking the bank if she eventually wants to go that direction. They are located just outside of Olney, about a 35-40 minute drive from the track.
