Bareback and with just a halter? What a great display of great riding and training. She's always been one of my favorite riders. Thanks for posting this! (and I had no idea she had a facebook page)
I'm not going to get into how much I L.O.V.E. that indoor arena. I've seen pictures before but never a video of the inside.

Sure.... when she does it it's great... when someone further down the food chain is interested in it then they are Satan.

Huh? Other than the constant criticism of top international competitors, I don't recall anyone else ever being villified for GOOD riding, whatever the tack.
If there is a specific video you think has been unfairly criticized, please post it.

Who gets vilified for riding their retired horses bareback and with a halter?

Ahh.... yes, we have forgotten the bareback thread. (or perhaps some never saw it.) I will dig it up later. Short summary, an amateur queried about it, then a pro who advocates it joined in. They were attacked for promoting such a 'stupid' idea, how much they sucked as riders, claiming they knew other dressage trainers, etc. It was quite the open minded, useful, discussion.

By all means, dig it up. Some may read it differently.

Lovely video which IMO proves the long-lasting benefits of correct classical training with appropriate tack. Not saying one can't get there without a bit and saddle, though I've never personally seen it done.
And now - sadly - there's this debacle to be dealt with:

Oh goody. All is well with the world and the railbirders are happy again.
She's not a stupid woman so doubt very much she would flaunt the rules in this way. She knows she is under scrutiny and has other options- gastrogard.
Ulcer meds . I would guess that whoever feeds the horses made a mistake since W.N gets this medication and is in adjoining stall . Bad luck for Isabel . .
Just my opinion. Others will vehemently disagree.;-)

There's a difference between playing with a made GP horse bareback and advocating a wholesale switch to bareback training (esp using the Patented Bareback Saddle-That's-Not-A-Saddle, on sale now for $249.99! Act now!).
Controversy aside, I wish I could ride like that.

I have to agree Crockpot... though I might have the groom's head for being casual with controlled substances. Sigh. We live in a very different world these days than the one I came of age in.

Awesome video -the horse is so forward and she is so relaxed. Thanks for pointing out she had no bridle because that explains how sometimes she seemed to be heavy handed. I threw the description into Google translate but it missed some of the idiomatic expressions.
This only encourages me more! As for the criticisms and excoriations on previous bareback threads -I am reminded of the Dressage Curmudgeon's cautionary thread about dressage forums being like Walmart and the interesting behaviors you see when the equivalent of Vera Wang visit's Walmart http://dressagecurmudgeon.blogspot.c....html?spref=fb
