Read the comments. The ones that take up for the girl are horrifying to me. One says something about the fact that she was "just being herself" and that the judge was wrong to try and change that. Fer realz?
I don't think that's the problem, I think that the kid who has no training becomes the adult who has no training. It doesn't just set in over time. So she just had her comin' to Jesus and it shocked the crap out of her. Like that young man whose video I posted. He was flummoxed that intimidating his girlfriend after being charged with beating her and kidnapping her would get him 3 years in jail!
He is total garbage! Quick! Hide him on my trailer (Petstorejunkie).
IMO, you can get raised up the easy way or the hard way. What your parents don't give you, a judge can. But it will happen one way or another.
The weirdest part is that no one taught this woman that there is a time to defer and a time to stand up for yourself. Who doesn't *know* that you are digging a deep hole for yourself when you mouth off to a judge?
If she had to spend some time in jail to learn that lesson then so be it. It would have been cheaper for taxpayers, however, if she had learned this some other way.
I wish Lindsay Lohan would go before this judge. She is a horrible example of giving the justice system the metaphorical finger and walking away unscathed.
Some jail time would do her good. And not in a county jail, but in a real jail.
Seems like kids can mouth off with impunity to everyone but a judge. Terrible world we are living in when the only way to get these kid's attention is to send them to jail.
Someone should have used the 2 x 4 school of child education long before that girl ever saw the inside of that courtroom. (I do not mean physical punishment (necessarily). I mean the kind of punishment that makes the punishee sit up and take notice of the real consequences of his actions.)
If you put 50 children with Down's Syndrome in a room, there's going to be a lot of hugging.
