Default Anyone clinic'd with Hawley Bennett?

If so, would love to hear reviews. A clinic is being offered near me that I may actually have the time and cash to attend this spring. Lower level horse that is new to eventing - though will hopefully have run his first BN by then.

I used to ride with her when I lived in SoCal, she's fabulous. She is technical, fair, and very encouraging.

Just finished a clinic with her! She was fabulous. Some wonderful exercises, and lots of fun! She's very encouraging.
To ride or not to ride-what a stupid question!

She's an amazing person. Every time she offers a clinic (her farm is only an hour and a half from me) I have SOMETHING going on or lack of cash, but having met her I can't wait to ride with her. I've listened to her coach from the sidelines and everything she said was very constructive, easy to understand, and effective for the particular pair she was coaching.

Highly, highly suggest you clinic with her. And report back.

Thumbs down she sucks as a teacher

I have clinic'd with her. she was unkind and difficult. she told me to run my horse as fast as i can to the jumps and it would jump anything. i found her to be mean and i would not recommend her to anyone as a helpful teacher

As do I, especially since I have personally heard her coaching from the sidelines in showjumping and XC warm-up. Of all the trainers available in my area she is by far one of the best and most sought-after, for many MANY reasons. She truly cares about her riders and the horses.

hawley is awesome! any opportunity you have to ride with her snatch it up. she pushes you without you even realizing it and is incredibly encouraging. she wont ask you do to anything that she doesnt feel like you and your horse are capapble of.

You are going to have a credibility problem with this. Anyone in the world who has evented above BN level is going to know that you can't "run a horse as fast as you can to the jumps". Actually, a D Pony Clubber knows that.
