    Default cats & head cones

I posted earlier about my cat with bladder stones - he is having surgery today & will have to wear a "recovery collar" aka head cone. Stupid question - will he be able to do steps with the head cone? He is skittish & his hiding spot is in the basement - I'm envisioning him going head over heels on the steps. Am I better keeping him confined to 1 floor or 1 room?

They adapt very quickly, but I think I would keep him on one floor until you see how he handles obstacles.

I would also keep him on one floor for a few days after surgery (see what your vet says) with easy hidey places, but the "e collar" that my kitty wore is soft, not the lampshade cone of shame thing, so his vision was not impeded at all. Hope your guy has a speedy and easy recovery!

    that's a neat collar.

when we had our "curtain climber" neutered, she was able to rip off the plastic cone under 3 seconds. My hubby tied it to a harness around her body to keep it on.
