Default 2012 Gold Medalist Give His Rules For Riding A Jump Off

Seems like everyone, no matter how good, could shave time off their round if they followed these rules.

GREAT article, thank you for posting it for everyone to see.

I bet it really works well when you have been using the rules for a thousand years. LOL I think you need to edit the title from 1012 Gold Medalist to 2012 Gold Medalist. Thanks again.

His tip about making three straight strides before a fence is an important one.

Watch Bernie Traurig's detailed explanation about how to do this consistently on Equestrian Coach.com, under the topic "Winning Turns:"

A friend taught me this years ago and how to walk from the fence to the three strides out and she told me that is where I needed to be and then straight to the fence. My horse only needed 2 straight to a vertical but 3 to an oxer. Walking the line backwards sure helped.
