I know! It's crazy. In my area I see some really "good" CL ads. I will post the better ones when I see them. And I don't know about you, but calling my horse an A-hole is not usually the best description I use when trying to sell. haaa.

Lots of bartering for board going on. But one place has even described their position as a "working student" thing. That's right, friends at home, you primarily muck, feed, water and turn in/out.

At least this person states that the horse (8 year old QH Mare) knows nothing. My friend told me that they had ridden the horse. "Riding," it turns out, amounts to a guy sitting on the horse, maybe posing with a kid on the horse for a photo op.
No buck or rear indeed. How would they know?

this one is sad.
Free dog. Take him (Pelham )
He's pretty much a dog. He will hump, lick and eat anything. I hate him. Take him or I'll drop him off at your house.

Actually this looks like a cute beastie but I thought the 'prefers to walk' was pretty funny! "Splash is a 17hh, 12 year old registered clydesdale mare with unique coloring. Absolutely 100% beginner safe for trail rides, will go anywhere and stand all day, easy to mount, trailer and work around, can be shod all around without a stock. She will trot and canter with crop but prefers to walk. Great for a large person. She is only for sale because she doesn't drive and we own a carriage company. I promise this is the most quiet and safe horse you will EVER own. " http://cnj.craigslist.org/grd/3657169393.html

That is a cute mare. She sounds fun to have around the barn for kids to climb all over. I don't know about $4,000, but a bomb proof safe horse like that sounds fun for a family.
His name is Airborne - because he usually is!

Awesome, Daatje!!
I missed out on a like-new Pessoa saddle by mere minutes that was sold for 450.00. She didn't even list the brand name in the ad, but I could see the "brand" on the picture. And the buyer was a new rider and probably didn't know much about the great deal she had just gotten. Sigh. But I did snap up a Mattes half pad, like-new, for 20 bucks!
