    Default Favorite Tack Consignment Shops

I did a search and nothing jumped out at me; so if there is a thread like this already, please forgive me

I'm sure I'm not the only one with expensive taste but no budget to support it. I've become a fan of consignment shops with gently used tack, show clothes, blankets, etc. to fuel my habits.

    Tell me your favorites!

I recently had an excellent transaction with Sue at The Paddock Connection for a fantastic wool dress sheet.

    TIA!

I'll add on to your question - any ONLINE consignment shops? Thanks!

When I was in GA, I visited the Snooty Fox that lucasb recommends. Cute shop. It took me a while to find it, though, if I remember!

No brick & mortar ones, but Horse Hardware in KC does a consignment weekend that is amazing. Will be planning a trip up there this spring.

Ive not purchased from them but equusnow.com has a consignment section. People seem to have good things to say about them.

Here are a couple tack sites that are worth mentioning (both carry saddles, girths, bridles, stirrup leathers etc):

I used to go to the Grey Pony Saddlery in Highland, MD all the time. Show clothes, boots, saddles, all kinds of stuff: http://www.greypony.com

Visited Maryland Saddlery too, near Hunt Valley, MD, once. They kind of blew my mind. http://www.marylandsaddlery.com/

Near where I live now, there's Old Frontier in Grovetown, GA (I don't think they have a website but they're like two doors down from the Boots, Bridles, and Britches in Grovetown. [Unfortunately, BB&B doesn't have consignment]

And then there's Oak Manor Saddlery in Aiken, SC: http://www.oakmanorsaddlery.com/

When I moved to California I was told about the sticker shock. Then I found http://www.sandiegosaddlery.net/
Lovely brick and mortar shop that does have some online and will happily ship it to you. Lovely ladies who are versed in both western and english disciplines. Bonus they always always have show shirts and breeches on show weekend when the big stores don't.

I'm pretty sure the same thing happened to me looking for this place. We finally found it & it wasn't open. so I've been there but I haven't been there.

I second Middleburg Tack. My new fave is in Aberdeen, NC between Southern Pines proper and the horse park...1 block off Hwy 1 so it's very easy to find. Barn Door Consignments...it's a little shop but b/c of being in horse country, they get some of the best stuff. They have top notch stuff and you'll find driving, racing, h/j, dressage, eventing, and western stuff alongside books, gifty stuff, etc. The day I was in there last week a guy came to consign some Texas Longhorn horns. They hung 'em on the wall next to some paintings done by a horse. Just fun! I got a ton of stuff for next to nothing. And the owners/staff are great.

Another vote for The Snooty Fox! Tues - Sat, 10AM-6PM, located in the Alpharetta Business Center. Coming south/west on Hwy 9, it is the first right (0.1 miles) you can make after Wills Rd, across from Sky Carwash (next to the Ferrari dealership, which is on the corner of Wills Rd and Hwy 9). I miss it!!!

Nan at Snooty Fox is super nice.

I also like MBurg Tack Exchange and of course Premier Tack Outlet.
