I'd say just fill out the text with more about you and put up some newer, clearer photos. I think you were going in the right direction when you wrote it but you just didn't quite have enough there to begin with.

I added some more photos... they feel redundant... which should I use as my main one? (ecg824)

Your hair cut is super cute. Like, I might print your picture and bring it to my stylist cute. And you don't look anywhere near 40.

KT is positively precious! Met her person a few weeks ago and she is super cute!

Y'all are making me blush. Thanks for all the kind words!

ECG - this haircut is awesome for me because I have super fine hair that just can't grow much longer. But I have to get it cut every 3 1/2 weeks, I have to style it (no wash and go), and it is the worst bed head imaginable.

So to continue the play by play - I got a message from a 26- year old whose profile only says he was a porn star for three years. And one guy said I look more like Sally Field. I...don't know what to think of that. I mean she looks great for her age but, her age!

I look at the Equinematch or whatever horsey dating website is called...some ads are self-defeating:

"Divorced with 3 lovely kids to share"...Men don't want to raise another guys children...a real deal breaker.

"Sexy equestrienne looking for a supportive partner to share my life"...Men prefer no drama and reality...at 45, you aren't the hot 20 year old you used to be...the market has changed and so has your value and desirability.

"I've got 2 horses, show and have 2 dogs I love"...woohoo! Expensive, time filling hobby and 2 dogs for additional hassle...gimme two!

And the worst ads...the woman with 18" of cleavage leaning forward with the soft focus to hide the lines....very sad and desperate.

The kindness level of this post is way out of the ordinary for you Trak, are you feeling alright? -eyeroll-

You all have inspired me to start up an account. I just got out of a five-year relationship so am not looking for anything serious, but would just like to be "out there" meeting new people. New people who hopefully have shared interests, not just those who decided to walk across the bar cause I have a nice rack.

You and danceronice should get together.

Really amazing how many men on this forum are sarcastic and belittling toward women on a regular basis. I think Adamantane (who I mention only because he is in this thread and I don't want to give the impression he is included in this commentary) is the only one who has never spoken derogatorily about or to a women on here. It blows my mind what men still think is acceptable.

And by the way, the number of men in your age range and of what appears to be a similar temperament who have messaged me trying to get some of my "value" and "desirability" is legion. No problems chatting with nice people of any age, but when one of the trophy hunters drops by I make liberal use of the "delete" button.

all of you guys have shot up my weekly average of views.

I still need to swap my photos around as per a poster and I need to get a shot of the dog and I together per Lex. I get bites and messages from men, but I am not interested in them.

    Question:
Ladies, when you message a man does he respond back?

Men, do you like it when a woman messages you?

I dont want to spin off, I think we can keep the discussion here.

Okay--I just caught on to this thread and I read to page 6. Then skipped to page 15.

Glad you all are still talking profiles!!

I need a major de-bitchifying to my profile. No one likes me....really....ever.

Sad thing is, the profile is really true. I'm fairly dry. And I'm pretty vein.
Maybe it's me that needs the de-bitchifying and not my profile? lol. shrug.

    I'm

I'll be looking at the profiles that were posted in the first 6 pages of the thread for sure!

This is too funny! I think the best part of online dating is actually the commercials. Is it the Match.com commercial that says "First dates are always fun!"? No they are not! Judgey is good, until you're over the age of 30 and still have no significant other.

Rarely, though I was never sure if it's because I was aiming too high, being too chatty, if they were taken and hadn't hidden their profiles, or what. (Probably all of the above.)

There's a rule of thumb I've heard for writing--for every twelve cold queries you throw out there, you'll get one positive response (i.e., a request to see some chapters or whatever). The same general math seemed to apply to Match and OKC, at least for me.

    Hey Purple,

I dont think you are too bitchy, I actually laughed out loud at one point. I would edit it down a bit. Delete that you read Twilight and the Hunger Games. Delete "I will never do something "just because" and I am allergic to nonsense." makes you sound like you are not spontaneous, but men like to think that they are. I don't understand the JB reference, but that does not matter and the Avatar part just made me laugh.

I am surprise that your "I am bendy" comment does not do it for you! Men's minds are always in the gutter.

swap out some of the pictures. Make the one with the cowboy hat your profile and delete the one with the foal.

I would also broaden your "what are you looking for" I know you stated long term, but try opening it to short term as well.

Whatcha think of mine? I am onawho!
