    Default What Do Week-Old Kittens Dream Of? PIX added! -- post 9

    A cute but serious question...

    A few weeks ago when the weather got cold I brought in a stray that had been hanging around. She was obviously pregnant and I didn't want babies to be born outside.

    Last week she gave birth to 4 adorable (obviously!) kittens in a box in my living room, so I've been watching them closely. Starting at about 3 days old, they seem to be dreaming like a dog does -- paddling feet like they're running and squeaking occasionally.

    So, do you think it's the kitty version of "race memory" (dreaming of mice they've never seen)? Makes me wonder what blind, deaf kittens are imagining!

    Good for you for saving that momma and her babies.

    I have no idea what kittens dream of but I suspect a good number of those movements are for muscle developement so they can begin crawling then walking when the time is right.

    Well, I want them but my other cats would pack their little bags and run away so I'll just have to enjoy the cuteness from afar.

    They are adorable and mom is quite pretty as well.
