Default Another 'looking for dressage trainer' thread

    Hi,

New poster here - I am currently looking for a good dressage trainer to work with my young Friesian mare (sport type). I live in North Central, Mass. and would like to stay within 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive. Potentially interested in showing and would like to see how far she is capable of going either with me (amateur) or trainer or both. Expecting to put horse in full training/board.

Thank you for your ideas and suggestions.

I know that Linda Parmenter has done good things with Friesians. I think she is a bit west of you in Hubbardston, MA

Might be on the outside of your distance, but Ellie Coletti comes highly recommended- FEI rider/trainer and much experience with Friesians. located in Plympton, MA. 781-789-3016.

Any thoughts on whether Larry Poulin, Orintha Silva (Ten Broeck Farm) or Jane Hannigan would be interested/willing to work with a young Friesian and amateur owner? Any opinions? Again, just checking out my best options.

Thank you again for your help and comments.

I am probably not able to get on, but I have a student who is a lovely FEI rider - she will be doing Brentina Cup this summer, who may be interested.

Horselover1, are you anywhere near The Ark? Barend Heilbron teaches there once a week and he's super with amateurs (also he's Dutch, so I suspect he knows Friesians). It might be worth contacting that barn and going to watch a few of his lessons to see if you think he's a match.
