People who don't issue spoiler alerts on Facebook!! My SB is ruined now.
This is pure venting. I only watch one freaking football game a year...the Super Bowl. I used to follow the NFL pretty regularly, but life gets in the way and so the SB is it for me.
I just settled down to watch, grabbed my computer to chat with a friend on Facebook while we watch the commercials (her thing), when another friend posts "the ____ won the Super Bowl, just asked a friend who lives in Australia"!
What a dumbass! My game is totally ruined now.

I think someone's pulling your leg. The first half isn't even over yet. . .

But with the way this game is going, it very well could be.

And I thought that I was the most gullible person ever...
Flip a coin. It's not what side lands that matters, but what side you were hoping for when the coin was still in the air.
You call it boxed wine. I call it carboardeaux.

Timezones =/= time travel.
"Why would anybody come here if they had a pony? Who leaves a country packed with ponies to come to a non-pony country? It doesn't make sense!"

Okay...I'm a freaking idiot!! But..it's posts and shit like that they sort of take away some of the joy of games or movies. Same guy posted all about a movie I hadn't seen--not just a general review, but a total "give away the ending" kind of thing.

Eh, when it comes to news/sports, it's on you to avoid social media if you don't want to know what happened, not the other way around. People can't be expected to not share news of the world's biggest sporting event. (Even though I realize this was a poor joke!). Movies, that's a little more annoying, although a gray area. I would just hide or unfriend this person on FB if they're annoying you.

I do "spoiler alerts" in blog posts, but not on FB. I don't think most of my friends do either. FB seems more off the cuff and less formal (which various alerts/warnings etc make me think of), more like overhearing chatter.

Get the Social Fixer for Facebook plugin for your web browser. It's free and totally awesome. Among other things, it can filter your Facebook feed so that posts with certain key words (like Super Bowl, SB, Baltimore, etc.) go onto a particular tab and you'd have to purposely click on that tab to see them. This is handy for election season, when a big movie is coming out, etc.

I don't know of an equivalent program for smartphones, sorry.
