Have had Dormello in the back of my mind for a while now. I saw a pic of his daughter, the Brilliant Ring Mare DeLovely and am really impressed. Is anyone aware of any of his get here in the US , stallions standing or mares for sale?

There is frozen available of his sire's. I have always thought going to the grandsire to breed makes sense if you want what has already been produced. What do you think?

We have a Dormello mare in our barn. Owned by a friend, we are leasing her (and might very well end buying her) for the 2013-2014 breeding season. She was imported from Germany in 2007 (or very early in 2008). She got a very nice Johnson colt in 2008 who is for sale by his current owner (wich is not me!).

Ann Kitchel has a super producing Dormello mare in Germany. Has been bred to Floriscount at least times and produced super foals! Tantorini Warmbloods in the UK also has a super Dormello mare that has been bred to Floriscount with great results. Pangaea Farm also owns a Dormelo mare. Those are the ones I know of. We own De Lovely and she had her first foal last year, a filly by Sir Gregory. Filly had never been off the farm when we took her to Dressage at Devon where she won the Fillies of 2012 Class, a class of 30 foals. Katrin Burger told me the Dormello mares were proving to be good producers. I sure was pleased with the foal my De Lovely had in 2012. Think she is going to be a very good producer.

Thanx Nancy. I read on Eurodressage that Dormello has one stallion son but I cannot find any information on him. With Dormello in Germany it may be difficult to get his semen.

Dutch Dormello is the one stallion son that I am aware of. But know nothing about him to share, sorry.

Thanks Derid. We are pretty excited too! She is lovely in every way. Very easy and polite mare, yet so expressive.

One of them is Don Bon Jovi (Dormello x Anhaltiner), but he died in 2010 or so. Was a London 2012 prospect for his NZ rider. Not sure if he was standing at stud or not.

Not sure if he has ever been a licenced stallion or not, but Dormello's son Der Stern OLD ridden by Isabell Werth, is out of a Sion x Manstein mare. Seems like he was campaigned in 2012 in Inter 1, according to what I have found on Google

I’m not sure if it’s interesting since I’ve not seen a direct son but a grandson by Florencio is very popular here in Sweden.

I saw Floricello at his Korung in Oldenburg and thought he was lovely. He looks super under saddle too. In-hand he reminded me more of Dormello than Florencio, but under saddle I can see the Florencio coming out (-:

I have started 2 Dormello dam-sired horses (by different sires). Both have been kind, easy to train and elegant. The gaits are good and they seem to be ideal horses for the NA market. I had the privilege of meeting Floricello's dam Starlet this summer, she was stunning and Georg Sieverding showed us a yearling filly out of her by Fürstenball that was truly special.
