    Default Marquetry has died

Apparently injured in a stall accident. It didn't say what happened or what he injured but I guess he must have broken something or had a head injury or something. He was 26. =(

    Gallop on Marquetry.
I saw this on FB yesterday, Barbara Livingston posted a beautiful picture she had taken of him running.
    Such a beautiful horse.

Doesn't begin to compare with Barbara's picture but here is my daughter from last year when we went to Rolex.

I have a Marquetry son -- he's the image of his sire. From the posted tribute at Old Friends, sounds like he has a similar personality too.

One of my favorite broodmares here is a Marquetry daughter. I was very sad to hear this news.

I was so sad to hear this. The first report I heard was that he broke a leg in his stall. Now they are saying that a necropsy is being done so there must have been more to it.

I knew Marquetry as a young stallion and always liked him. I now have an 8 year old son with a similar personality and appearance. I am glad Marquetry was able to spend his last couple of years at Old Friends where he was not doubt spoiled rotten.

    RIP Marquie.

They said he had an accident in his stall during a storm and broke his femur. So I am going to hazard a guess that maybe he was spooked and either kicked the wall or slipped and fell and that was that. Such a shame.
