I need to sell my County Stabilizer saddle because it does not fit my horse and I need to buy a new saddle that will fit my horse.

Are there any good websites out there for selling used saddles that people have had luck with? I was told to list it on Ebay but am hesitant because of all the fees that will incurr with using Ebay and PayPal.

Horseclicks.com has a ton of traffic, so does EquineNow.com. I have been trying to sell 2 saddles for months.

Truthfully, the most interested parties are the ones "in my area". I would suggest looking for smaller, local websites (via your regional associations). You will most likely get a lot of bites from buyers who are interested in seeing/touching/taking the saddle on trial first.

You could also sell it via consignment... there are tons of tack stores/websites that accept consignment saddles shipped to them. Good luck.

Tacktrader.com has worked well for me. Just ignore the initial barrage of spam you'll get (new ads seem to always get several, then it tapers off). Bitsandbarter board has seemed pretty slow lately, but I'd still list there and horsegroomingsupplies.com forums as those are free. Any local organizations that might have websites with listings or facebook pages?

And if it by chance is of the wider variety, PM me, as I'm looking to fit my picnic table horse! He's borrowing a saddle right now, but one day might earn one of his own.

I am sending my PJ to Patricia at fine-used-saddles.com. With an expensive piece of tack I am more comfortable having a pro handle trials and whatnot, which most people want with a saddle.

IME, the County rep was much more interested in selling new or demos, but it would be worth inquiring about. I'm sure every rep is different.

I've sold 3 very different saddles (Beval, Custom Saddlery & Jaguar) through Rick's Saddlery - www.saddlesource.com. All sold in a couple of months, and I got good money for them even after they took a commission

I was hesitant as well about ebay but after trying it I was a convert. It was so easy, I got top dollar for my lovely CWD and the fees for both ebay and paypal were much more reasonable than I expected, in fact I was thrilled at how low they were in comparision to the pricey saddle I sold.
