HI - my question is - when you buy horse feed , it has corn, oats , mollases, etc, - well
the corn if i am right causes inflamation , and so on ,i was just wondering is there
something different than using corn ,and so on , than what comes in a bag of horse feed .

Our horses get mostly hay and grass, very little feed. They do get stall rest when it rains, or for lay-ups, and X-rays as needed for injuries.

There is a barn nearby that proudly touts the fact that they do not feed corn but they have more long term lay-ups, X-rays, etc. due to the poor footing in both of their arenas. Funny what people latch on to regarding horses' health.

Maybe the OP can start a spin-off thread about poor footing...

HORSES-- there are dozens of ways to avoid corn when feeding supplemental grain to a horse. Perhaps talking to your feed store, barn manager, or trainer--a horse professional with experience, or even a vet or nutritionist, can help you. If you are still feeding "COB", you need to explore your feed store and read some labels.

Reading is a good way to get information. If you struggle with reading, as many people do, then asking questions of professionals is a good way to go.

Duh, guys, horses were never hurt in the old days. Even though some people fed straight corn then. Clearly it's the feed companies, coming to your barn and crippling your horse in the night!
