    Default Lightest Rain Sheet Possible

I would appreciate recommendations for a super lightweight rain sheet. Just enough to be a waterproof windbreaker, but not adding much warmth at all.

    Thanks!

I have a Saxon rain sheet – that is VERY light weight, it is also light blue which keeps it from getting hot in the sun. I find that my horse can wear this on 60+ degree days – and gallop around in turnout out without working up a sweat (she has a trace clip only)

I found mine on blow out (Steal of a Deal thread here)

Its only 600D, but mine is used 7 days a week in the winter and is still holding up well on its second season. Washes easily and looks good too.

I like the Amigo Mio turnout (light -no fill). I think Jeffers has them on sale.

Love the Amigo turnouts - they seem to last forever, I really like the fit, and they (like almost all sheets) have no fill.

I have a Bucas Sunshower. Lightweight, works really well.

Another thumbs up for the Amigo Mio
The Farm House has them on sale for $56. Sizes 78, 81 and 84 left. (HUGE warehouse sale going on now!)

I think the "Horze" brand rain sheet is very nice, not too heavy, and if you can get a 50% off code (they are all over the internet) then it's about $50.

The water just beads up and rolls off of it. Very nice sheet.

I really like the Sunshower from Buccas, too. And I'm typically not a huge fan of Buccas. I have a mare in my care who seems to be very prone to rain induced hives. She wears her Sunshower just all summer and fall (basically from the moment she no longer needs a turnout rug to the moment she does). Very rare for her to come in sweaty, even on the hottest, most humid Virginia summer days.
