Joe Forest is in that area, though I think he's just over the state line in NH. Don't know him personally, but I know several horses that he has started and he does a fantastic job. He would be the first place I'd look if I were in your shoes.

He is not close to the border of southern Vermont or western Massachusetts.

Pardon me for offering the name of someone who I know has done an excellent job starting hot, sensitive dressage horses and is only 30-40 miles outside the original poster's target zone. Do you have any suggestions for the OP?

Cat, why so defensive? What in the world did you read into Joanne's reply that put your undies in such a tight wad? She only pointed out it did not meet the OP's criteria of being close. Sheesh!

Of course YOU would chime in. The OP says he/she is "willing to travel." Travelling 30-40 miles for someone who puts excellent basics on FEI-quality youngsters in a very kind and effective way seems worth it to me... but maybe if people would just STFU, we could all be friendly and the OP could make his/her own decision. Does anyone other than me have any helpful suggestions for the OP?

    CatPMS,

The OP said, "Willing to travel but don't want to go too far."

If your first post was trying to be helpful, your subsequent ones have been pure snark for no good reason.

Oh, get over yourself. If you don't have anything to suggest to the OP, what are you doing on this thread anyway? Each one of my posts has had some information regarding the OP's original question. How about yours? I didn't start the snark. CatPMS? Original. Go away.

Not sure if you are closer to Brattleboro or Keene, but you might consider contacting the Central Vermont Dressage Association for their list of trainers/instructors. They usually have it online but have taken it down so they are possibly updating it for the new year. They can probably send you a copy of the 2012 list.

How ya doing on martinis? Dealing with a cat with PMS is enough to drive a person to imbibing in a few.

Defending Joanne, whom you were stomping all over without any justification.

Not really. You made one useful statement and the rest has been ranting and getting upset over nothing. If you weren't stomping your feet and holding your breath while, then I would never have felt the need to stand up for another poster who is obviously trying to be kind even after having someone spit in her face (so to speak, since it was written). Oh, and thanks for the compliment on my originality.

Since I'm being called unhelpful to the OP, all I can do is offer the OP the benefit of a much viewed thread--at this point in time. If Bogey and some other bring some popcorn to this thread to watch the train wreck, you just might get some other visiting to watch and share in the popcorn, and they might have some suggestions for you.
