Have you ever seen a horse walk weird after being shod for the first time in a while, or with different shoes? Not an ouchy walk, but just like a "I don't know what to do with my feet" kind of walk?

Yep - the first time my old horse wore shoes was when he was about 10 years old - walked off like a show poodle picking his feet way up! I don't think it lasted more than a day though.
Mine did the icky-sticky-foot the first time I put back open fronts on him.
Haha okay thanks guys. I think I figured out what the problem was. Poor boy is super stiff. Just walked him around a little bit and then all was well again. I wish it would warm up a bit.
