    Default HITS Ocala- Outside Course

    Hi there,
What is the "outside course" like at HITS Ocala? I noticed it's a new ring this year. I'm assuming its grass?
    TIA!

HI - Its dirt but off to the side --the bank is inviting not crazy. I think there was a tree in the middle but I could be wrong.

Here is a picture of it from the HITS page. I wish they would have a grass ring! https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...66960501_n.jpg

Since when is an outside course a fenced ring? Do they set part of the course outside of the ring?

That does not look like an outside course to me.

It's not an outside course, really. It just has a grass strip around the ring...you canter out...around the corner, over a jump and canter back in. I think I've only seen it used for those derby/prix things HITS has. Otherwise, they just use it like a regular ring.

That's an outside course? Not to those of us who know better.

Thanks for telling me what the ring looks like. I was thinking an old fashioned outside course!

"That" would certainly be a stretch of the definition!!!
