Default zone 2 qualifying specs for childrens and adult hunters?

    Hello!

    I have a question:

For adult hunters or childrens hunter horses, can a horse be shown in both the age sections throughout the year (but not at the same show of course) because there are two riders riding the horse, and still be able to qualify for zones in one section?

For example, if a younger adult showed the horse most of the year and got most of the points, but an older adult showed it the last few shows of the qualifying year and wanted to do zone finals, can they use the points from the younger section to put towards the older section?

    Thanks!

The points earned in different sections may not be combined. The points stay within the section in which they were earned.

I believe this is the case with children's but not adults -- See the zone specs -- http://www.ushja.org/zones/documents/specs/2013_z2.pdf

FOR QUALIFYING for zone 2 hunter finals, a horse has children's hunter or adult amateur hunter points. It can show during the year in age group. When it enters Zone finals, it must pick one age and will be processed in only one age group. Points from all age groups during the qualifying period will be used to determine the total points for the horse.

This is the same way that it is handled for junior and ao hunters at devon, PNHS, WIHS, etc.

The zone rankings are age specific, so for year end awards a horse that shows in multiple age groups will appear in the standings for each age group.
