Question Healing a bone bruise type bump on babies hind leg?

Wonder if anyone has tips to heal bone bruises.

My yearling must have kicked something or got cast.

He has a small raised area over his cannon bone on his right hind.

It is slightly warm to the touch. No cuts in the area and rest of leg looks normal.

I am assuming it is a bone bruise that is a tad puffy, but since I plan to show him in the HB this year, I want to make sure it goes away!

I wrapped it with some dura zone and DMSO, but is there anything else that would be better?

Infra red maybe? Something that would promote bone healing. I had a foal that did that and the bump was there for 2 yrs. Gone now and no after effects.

I would get an xray to check for a green fracture.

I put back shoes on a horse that was 7 years old and had never had hind shoes on before. He kicked himself while stomping flies. It was on the front of the hind cannon, right over bone only area. I did notice a hard swelling with slight heat and felt it with my hand at the time. It did not seem to have broken the skin, just caused a lump. I felt it every day for three days, and it cooled down. Then I forgot about it. Seven days later it was swelling and warm. Called vet ASAP. Cellulitis.
