Question Safe lesson program for 5/6 year old in South Charlotte

Hi all - the 5 year old daughter of a friend of mine has been begging to start riding lessons. They live in South Charlotte, NC, which is an area I know nothing about. Anyone have any recommendations for a reputable, honest, safe, beginner-friendly program? Must have beginner suitable ponies and not be intent on fleecing non-horsey parents ;-).

Robbie Hunt at Hunters Lane. They're in Huntersville now, though.
I've heard there's more to life than an FEI tent and hotel rooms, so I'm trying it.

Yeah - that's going to be way too far. Is there anything that's closer? Doesn't have to be super fancy, just safe and honest.

Depending on where in South Charlotte they are (that is a pretty broadly defined area) there are a lot of farms in Waxhaw and the Union County area. I don't ride out that way so I can't make any specific recommendations, but I know there are many to choose from. You/ your friend might also want to check out the Charlotte Area Equestrians group on Facebook, a lot of recommendations there.

wish they were closer to here, we have lots of young girls that ride - from 4 yo to 6 yo we have at least 10 kids. Sorry, I don't now of any that far down in the state that I can recommend one way or another.

Ditto on Carolina Country Acres. They have lots of great school horses and do camps etc. Nice people and good instruction.
