I said MAJOR, didn't I!?? But the inside of the barn is cute and workable, and oh man, the town is just so gorgeous....that price is about what you would pay for the land, so it would be worth buying just to tear down the old hay barn and thhe ugly house, and rebuild!
Oh, I know this place. Way overpriced. The entire barn needs to be razed. Land is ok behind it. I'm kinda surprised the barn hasn't collapsed yet. If someone has plenty of wirking capital, you can make something of it.
ETA: found this one on the western MA CL: http://westernmass.craigslist.org/reb/3593531427.html

I keep seeing this lovely place whenever I want to feel miserable about not living in VA anymore.

Not too many details about barn, ring and outbuildings. I could certainly make it work.

Here's one in my neck of the woods, which looks lovely! Our ranch is about 6 minutes down the road.....

Meh. When it rains, plan on water creeping in from the uncovered section.

This farm is around the corner from us, on a different body of water though. Sometimes it's for sale, sometimes not, LOL. They just did an absoloute auction, someone "bought" the property and then the owner decided to dig his heels in and stay put. Lots of talk around here about what happens next!

The barn has a really strange setup as it was originally intended for cows.

Ohhh....my gawd. Why can't I be a millionaire? Why? That house is just LOVELY *swoon*. And 100+ acres on the waterfront?

I came across this and while it's not my cup of tea (live that close to a river? No thanks!), it's very unique. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-...-26038410.html It has a mini railway!

In person the house leaves a lot to be desired. It needs lots of repairs, but the pool house is really cool but still could use some work. Mr. A and I were at the auction and were ready to bid just in case it went really, really cheap. We do not need another farm (we have basically the same property minus the 100 plus year old house and guest houses). From what I hear there will be lawsuits out the ying yang.

Neither...Auction was handled by DeCaro, just checked their site and has it's status as sold. They handle some beautiful estates, worth checking out!
