    TJ, if that one were here especially it would be at least $1.5, not what it is, I am about to give up on owning horses in the Kitsap Peninsula, at least you have more sun on half of your daggone island. So sad what people put horses on in in my area. I met a vet here who said just to make a mud free area for her horses she had to spend $100,000! laying down a stone foundation.

    Well, we're selling my house (our, our house, but I bought it pre-DH) to rent for a year or two and save up...and then moving off the island towards Sno County. Can't buy more than about five or ten acres on the stupid island, there was 26 acres with a tiny little old house (oh but fresh paint and new laminate they hyped) and a shed (10'x20'?) and they wanted $650k. Sigh.

    I see all these properties that are unattainable around here, and it almost makes me want to move. Only I know I won't make as much there as I do here.

    I think farm shopping is an addiction. We just moved into our new farm and I have spent two hours looking at all your links <s> I should be unpacking. It took us years to find the right place with enough land, a barn and house we don't have to rebuild and a price that works for us.It was worth the wait. There are lots of farms for sale in our area as the horse world slowly morphs from thoroughbred farms to show horse farms. Justice Real estate has a dedicated section just of horse farms with great pictures...

    I did not see the inside of the house, all I have to say is that the photographer is a genius of disguise with the outside. I saw this barn in the fall, and the fields were bare dirt, it must be that these pictures were taken when the barn and arena were first built. And, for the life of me, cannot see how or where the photographer took those long range shots of the house, unless this is a different farm entirely and I am way off (I am not), they must have used a wide angle lens. What tips me off that I am not wrong is that arena and the aisle leading from the stable to the indoor. This is not unusual if you know how these glitzy pictures work with the wide angle lens. I cannot tell you how many places I saw (other than the one we actually bought) that looked nothing like the photos which many times were taken years earlier.

    Need to move to the middle of nowhere, and save some money? This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath manufactured home on 5 acres. $29,900. Vacant and bank-owned. I actually went to look at it as an investment, but it's too far away. Not near jobs; not near good highways to places with jobs. Ideal for someone who can sell where they are now, and use the equity to move to this place. It needs a lot of work, but is habitable as is, or at least I didn't see any showstoppers. The 5 acres is not clear and level, so not a good place for horses. Would be great for a retired couple to live off Social Security, and have a big garden and some chickens, etc.

    Now you will have to find something else to fantasize about which should not be too much of a problem with all of those over built places on the market in a seemingly endless supply. Gig Harbor is a beautiful area though. Sorry about popping that bubble!

    At nearly $15 Million this Millbrook, NY (the land of "Horses and Porsches") based farm "Grace Hill" is interesting. The video for the property is here with plenty of equine focus.

    An interesting bit of history: the farm was previously owned by actress Mary Tyler Moore.

    The little place I linked to in post #134 has had a further price reduction. Down to $19,900 for the double wide mobile home and five acres. Very rural Georgia setting. Pretty, but not near jobs or transportation. Not near a university, so neighbors will be very rural country folk. Perfect for a retired couple who need to live off their Social Security, and wants a garden and some chickens. Needs work, but would be perfect for someone with lots of free time. I love a bargain and love a rehab project, but this is not near where I live at all. Sigh.
