Boarding Recommendations Need for Southern Charlotte, NC
I’m looking for a facility where I could board my horse for 1 or 2 months at time while I’m staying with family in Charlotte. I would greatly appreciate any specific recommendations for boarding facilities / barns in the southern areas of Charlotte including South Caroline (Lake Wylie, Waxhaw, Fort Mill, Rock Hill).
My primary requirement is that my horse receives good, dependable care – stall cleaned daily, 8-10 hours of turnout daily with decent pasture forage, feed grain twice, lots of hay when stalled, routine schedule, kind handling. Ideally the facility would offer full care boarding, a friendly environment, covered arena or outdoor with lights, good footing, convenient access to trails and parking for trailer. I’m an event/dressage rider but am not limited to an English barn. Because I would only be boarding for a month or two at a time, I can survive without a trainer but I would take lessons if a good trainer was available.
The tricky part (I think) is to find a good facility willing to take a temporary boarder. Your suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. If you’re not comfortable discussing a facility / barn on this public forum, please send me a private message.
