    Default Throat Coat Tea

Has any one used throat coat tea for prevention/treatment of ulcers in horses. If so, did it work? What recipe did you use? How long did you use it for?

Also, how about Aloe Vera Juice?

    TIA!

ETA: I just heard from a friend that she uses Throat Coat and Aloe as a preventative for her horses. I'd never heard of this before and there isn't much out there on the Internet. Thought I'd turn to my fellow COTHers!

Check and see if it contains Slippery Elm bark powder. It probably does. I use this (per vet's suggestion) with a horse suspected of having gastric and hind gut ulcers. You can buy it in bulk from herbalcom.com. The vet also suggested Aloe juice, which is cheap at Trader Joe's.
