crosspost from off course
I found the bit I want online, but am not sure what size to order. the bit's description says "The mouth should measure 1/4"-1/2" longer than a typical fitting bit".
Does that mean I should add that much to my horses mouth size and order OR the bit is that much longer than a typical sized bit...
Just a little confused....thanks!
This is for a Gina Miles Double Break Snaffle Bit.
I'm going to guess it means that if you ride in a 5" normally, then order a 5 1/4" or 5 1/2" in this bi
^this is what they are talking about. Most often you see this with waterfords as they "drape" in the mouth and require a little extra room to not pinch. Haven't heard/experienced that being the case with a french link type bit.
