I love my Newmarket fleece quarter sheet.......but it creates so much static! Has anyone found a nice quarter sheet that does not do this? What type of material is it?

Try using Static Guard on the sheet before you put it on. This works for my polar fleece sheet. I just have to remember to do it!

I haven't had any issues with my horse's Saratoga Polartec exercise rug (or his cooler) in regard to static.

I've only used it twice so far, but my Moxie equestrian quarter sheet hasn't had any static yet. And I love the material's outer layer, which doesn't attract shavings and other small particles.

I do the same as my own static-y clothes, blankets, etc: wash and put in dryer with a dryer sheet. Dryer balls too, if I can find them.
When it starts to zap, time to do it again.

I recently purchased a Horze quarter sheet and although its probably not as warm as polar fleece, it is made nicely, has a waterproof exterior and does not create static. Plus with the Horze 50% off codes, the price is hard to beat

I've found coat length to be a major factor.
My full clipped guys usually have non, but my trace clipped ones can have some even when brushing.
Although speaking just of QS's the imported wool newmarket never has static on any hair coat,but the fleece ones usually do.

Mine is wool. Hair/hair creates less static that hair/plastic.

I just got one of the Centaur wool quarter sheets for christmas (thanks, mom!!!) and have had zero static with it. I've used it quite a bit over the past month and am loving it!

I have a Whitney made of pure wool - the same as the racehorses wear when doing the gallops on the downs in UK. It IS nice. Traditional orngey/yellow with stripes. No static.

The regular fleece ones I have crackle with static. I do have a couple made from some kind of Malden Mills technical fleece that they make human clothes from and they don't get the static like regular fleece for some reason.

I find that I have much worse problems with static with polarfleece and other synthetics, so you might want to try a wool quarter sheet. That said, you can also try dryer sheets or Static Guard - I think they are both a must have at the barn in winter :-)

Static Guard is the only way to go with this stuff. Lay your quarter sheet (or blanket, or whatever) on the ground with the horsey side facing up and spray, spray, spray that thing. Wait a few minutes and then it should be good to go! I spritz my blankets once a week to refresh everything and just to keep the static to a minimum. It comes in a blue can with an orange top.

natural fibers are your friend. But since buying new sheets are not an option, try rubbing the surface with a dryer sheet, or spraying a light mist of cheap hair conditioner and water.
