OTTB in need of some show name ideas!
Hey Guys! I have been having a difficult time coming up with a show name for my OTTB. His racing name is Montana Country (barn name Montana) and I'm not sure I want to keep his racing name as his show name. Montana is going to stay his barn name so I was trying to think of something that goes along with that but I'm open to anything. I posted a few pictures to hopefully help to inspire some names! I appreciate all the help! Thanks!

I like Montana Country!
I figure OTTBs earn their names...and yours sure did, with 27 starts and $34k won. Let him keep it

These are great and most of them I already had on my list but none of them really seemed to fit him. I think Big Sky Country is my favorite but I also agree with the other two posters too. I just didn't feel that Montana Country really fit him. I felt like he should be a quarter horse with that name and I should be a rancher, lol...

I would keep his JC name, really not that bad although I like Big Sky Country too. My one mare's name is Mean Irene...so it could be worse lol. I think I finally settled on Wicked for her show name but normally I really try and keep their JC names : )

I like his JC name! I think unless the name is horrible (and there are some horrible ones!) you should keep it. I don't love my new OTTB's name but it has grown on me, and to try to promote OTTB pride, I'm going to show her as Money Holder.

I like Montana Country, or Big Sky.
Quillquote are you going to pick him up this weekend?
I agree Macho Taste is pretty bad LOL. If he's a big tough looking horse, I've always wanted to name one "the road warrior". Seems like a good name for an event horse.
Sorry I'm terrible with names

Nope not this weekend, next! Need the child to come home from college in order to babysit dog and keep house warm. She has tryouts for the eq team, but next w/e is clear, and hopefully so will the weather??
Road Warrior is a pretty cool name! Iam sure i'll come up with something once he's home for a bit! Thanks for the diesel info!!

I like Montana Country! Unless the JC name is totally horrible, it's good to use it, shows Thoroughbred pride!

I like Montana Country too, though as I read your post, the John Denver song "Wild Montana Skies" started playing in my brain. http://youtu.be/e5biLaIi9NA

Great Idea!! Thanks!! The more people post though the more I think I should use his use his JC name... they called him MC at the track as his barn name so maybe I could do something like MC Big Sky or something... He's just SUCH a cuddle bug and a big softy that I always think of Montana Country being a rugged horse that is tough and sturdy... my horse is none of these things, lol... he's a puppy with hooves!
